- 3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 1/4 cups)
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour

- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mix mashed bananas and melted butter.
- Stir in sugar, egg, and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually fold into banana mixture.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 55–60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pan 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For extra richness, replace 1 tbsp butter with coconut oil.
- Use overripe bananas with brown spots for maximum sweetness and moisture.
- Store cooled bread wrapped in plastic for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
